Cyprus Lake serves as the central hub for camping and hiking to the Grotto. You need an advance parking reservation between May 1 and October 31 to enter this section. Without one, staff will turn you away at the gate if lots are full.

Parks Canada charges a roughly $10 CAD daily admission fee per adult, plus an $11.50 non-refundable reservation fee for parking. Staying at the Cyprus Lake Campground grants you automatic trail access to the shoreline.

The Grotto

1-2 hoursAdvance parking required

This limestone sea cave was carved by waves over thousands of years. The water here is clear, turquoise, and cold, making it popular for chilly swimming. Book your four-hour parking time slot months in advance, as summer dates sell out entirely. Remember that swimming is unsupervised.

Indian Head Cove

1-2 hoursNo lifeguards

This rocky bay sits directly adjacent to the Grotto. Flat white boulders line the shore, providing spots for sunbathing and swimming in Georgian Bay. Arrive early in your parking time slot to secure a good area on the rocks. Be careful of the steep drop-offs near the water.

Marr Lake Trail

1 hourModerate hike

This moderately difficult loop trail connects back to the Cyprus Lake area from the Grotto. The path takes you through a forest and across a boulder beach. Wear sturdy hiking boots, as the beach section requires scrambling over large rocks.
