About Bruce Peninsula National Park
Established in 1987, this 156-square-kilometer park protects the northern tip of the Niagara Escarpment. It sits in a core area of the UNESCO Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Reserve. Visitors come to hike Canada's oldest footpath, the Bruce Trail.
The eastern side borders Georgian Bay, known for deep, cold waters and limestone cliffs. The western side touches Lake Huron, offering shallow, sandy beaches at Family-Friendly Beach. You might spot black bears, massasauga rattlesnakes, and rare orchids.
The Grotto sea cave is the park's busiest site. If you plan to drive, read our Grotto Parking Guide guide to secure access during the busy summer season.
